Corfe Castle Dorset Camping

Located just outside the village of Corfe Castle and nestled at the foot of the famous Purbeck Ridgeway, Corfe Castle Dorset Camping is a traditional, well-kept, friendly and pleasant spot for tourers and campers.

The campsite is ideally located, with the beautiful sandy beaches of Swanage and Studland Bay both a ten-minute drive away, and you can stroll in to Corfe Castle village for drinks or meals out at the local pubs, to stock up on food and supplies from the village store and, of course, to explore the 1,000-year-old castle ruin.

Countryside is on your doorstep here – the Purbeck Hills and Corfe Common are popular with walkers and cyclists and are a great way to get to Swanage whilst being treated to fantastic, panoramic views. You can also travel to Swanage by bus from Corfe Castle, as well as on the heritage Swanage Railway.

As well as heading to the beach for a swim, you can also get your wetsuit on (or hire one for the day) for a ‘wet n’ wild’ time at the nearby Dorset Adventure Park, which is under a five-minute drive from the campsite.

And there’s plenty of wildlife to listen and watch out for – badgers are known to venture out at night and, depending on the time of year you’ll be treated to deer roaming nearby and bluebells in Spring.

Corfe Castle Dorset Campsite is open from the beginning of March until the end of October each year.

Facilities

There’s a mixture of 80 grass and hard-standing pitches here, which all offer electric hook-up points. Most pitches are well-sheltered and secluded. Some grass pitches may require levellers, although all hardstanding pitches are level.

A fish & chip van visits twice a week and there’s a small campsite shop selling basic camping essentials including Calor gas, and food such as fresh milk, eggs, sausages and bacon for your morning fry-up. Note that barbecues must be raised off the ground and coal or gas only.

There is a children’s play area, family shower room and dedicated disabled facilities, a laundry room and a motorhome service point.
