Hartland Stud

Rural campsite & local business collective just outside Corfe Castle

Historically a horse stud, Hartland is now a thriving centre for a unique range of local businesses offering classes and services to both locals and visitors, located just between Corfe Castle and Wareham.

If you’re camping here at Camp Hartland in the summer, have a browse at what’s on offer on your doorstep to make your stay a truly holistic holiday – book a massage for after a long day’s walking along the Purbeck coast, join the kids for some arty fun, or wake up to an Ashtanga yoga session in the studio, or outside if the weather’s warm.

Christmas craft and food fair

2021 saw Hartland Stud’s inaugural Christmas fair – which was a great success, so look out for next year’s, which is likely to be even bigger and better.

Expect a great range of stalls from artisan makers both locally in Purbeck and also further afield in Dorset – perfect for finding that elusive, unique Christmas present.

When you’ve finished browsing the artwork, jewellery and handmade gifts, kick back with a mulled cider around the bonfire and grab some freshly-cooked hot food and festive treats.

Camping at Hartland Stud, near Corfe Castle

Hartland Stud’s located just off the A351 between Wareham and Corfe Castle – almost directly opposite the Halfway Inn pub.

Turn into Soldier’s Road, where you’ll pass Lenctenbury Farm on your left (which is an excellent spot for fruit-picking in the Sumer, its pumpkin patch at Halloween, and high-quality, non-drop Christmas tree in late November/early December).

Hartland’s heathland with fantastic walking routes flank the road either side, and the entrance to both Hartland Stud and Camp Hartland is just a few hundred metres down Soldier’s Road on your left.

You can also approach from the opposite direction via Arne Road.
