Norden Farm Campsite

Family-friendly traditional campsite on a working farm just outside Corfe Castle

Norden Farm Campsite is a family-oriented and run, four AA pennant-rated camping and touring site on the outskirts of Corfe Castle.

Set on a working farm there’s an abundance of wildlife and farm animals for children to experience during their stay and easy access to a range of attractions in Corfe, Wareham, Swanage and Studland.

Find pretty paths direct from the site to the village of Corfe or up into the Purbeck Hills, and great cycle routes into the stunning heathlands of the Isle of Purbeck. At the entrance to Norden Farm you’ll find two bus stops for venturing further afield, as well as Norden Railway Station, for a fun day out on the Swanage Railway – a great way to visit Swanage Beach.

There are grass pitches across four fields at Norden Farm – three have electric hook-up and one is electric-free. An additional field is often opened up in the summer months to cater for further tents and campervans due to it being such a popular site. There are also two holiday lets on site, Norden Farm Cottage and Norden House – perfect for bringing the extended family on a Dorset holiday.

Also on site is a small children’s play area and a well-stocked shop, which is also regularly used by locals for essentials, animal feed & supplies, plants, and a variety of festive items including Christmas trees in December.

You’ll also find a fishing pond in a tranquil area between the spacious camping fields, which is a lovely spot for a picnic.

The campsite holds regular outdoor live music nights for its campers throughout the school summer holidays, so you can have a great night ‘in’ without having to leave your base.

As well as receiving the AA 4 pennant award year-on-year, Norden Farm Campsite has also picked up various other accolades, such as the 2020 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award.

🐾 Norden is dog-friendly. Both the campsite and the self-catering accommodation welcome up to three dogs.

🐾 Dogs should be kept on leads around farm animals, and note that at the entrance to the farm and around the shop area there are often free-roaming chickens, peacocks and the farm’s own dogs.

Events

Norden also has a field allocated for special events, so if you’re looking to host your big day, group annual event or a rally in Purbeck, Norden is a great choice with its proximity to the A351 and public transport links.

The Events Field is a slightly undulating six-acre site with four electric hook-up points and access to water.

You might also be interested in hiring Norden House (see below), which is great for larger gatherings. Its garden pavilion sits 20 and there is the option to add on a marquee and organise catering through local companies to make your day extra special.

Holiday homes at Norden

If camping’s not your thing, or other members of the extended family in your party want a few more luxuries and a real roof over their heads rather than canvas, there are two further accommodation options at Norden – a self catering holiday home that sleeps up to four people and the larger Norden House, which sleeps 14.

These self-catering lets can be very popular in peak seasons, such as summer and school holidays so it’s best to plan ahead and book early.

Norden Farm Cottage

This light, cosy and traditional two-bedroom cottage is set within the farm, where you’ll have your own garden and all the home-from-home essentials like WiFi, a TV with Freeview and DVD player, and a fully-fitted kitchen.

Bedding and towels are provided.

🛏️ Up to four people can stay at Norden Farm Cottage, in one double room and one twin.

Norden House

The Georgian gem that is Norden House is a great option for a large family get-together or a group staycation in the heart of Purbeck. With an enclosed pavilion in the garden, too, it’s also a special spot for an intimate celebration, or simply for a BBQ or dining out whatever the weather.

This old farmhouse is bursting with character and has a large, pleasant garden with seating to enjoy during your stay. There’s also a fire pit to continue the fun into the evening.

The dining room is set up to comfortably accommodate 14 people and there are two living room areas, which can be used as a large, single area, or divided into two by French doors, to give the kids their own space.

The farm shop is just across the drive, so you can stroll over for your morning breakfast supplies or an evening snack, or some last-minute things to entertain the children.

🛏️  Norden House sleeps up to 14 people across seven bedrooms. Four of these are doubles and two are twins – with one being an accessible, ground-floor double room with en-suite wet-room, which is suitable for disabled visitors. All rooms are en-suite and have TVs.
