This friendly, family-run hardware store in Swanage town centre caters for residents, businesses and visitors alike.

Situated about half way down Station Road, you’ll find Nixon’s in between Budgens supermarket and Albury & Hall estate agent.

There’s some parking spaces immediately opposite where you can park for a short time, which is handy if you’re popping in to pick something up, or nearby Mermond Place and Co-Op car parks are under a five-minute walk away.

Swanage’s bus terminus is also a short walk away, along with a taxi rank.

Candleworld

Candleworld is a charming, contemporary gift and accessories shop in the heart of Swanage, which stocks both local and designer items for the home.

Find Candleworld on High Street in the heart of Swanage town.

It’s right next door to Italian restaurant La Trattoria and close to both Swanage Beach and various other gift shops, pubs and eateries.

Park at any of the town’s main car parks to visit Candleworld – Broad Road is the closest long-stay car park, and Mermond Place is the nearest short-stay. You can park on High Street itself for free for up to an hour.

You’ll find Curiosity in the centre of town next to The White Swan pub, opposite the RNLI shop and just a short stroll from the beach.

It’s close to several other gift shops in town, including Raspberry Rose, Candleworld and Corfe Bears, as well as many of the main cafés, restaurants and pubs making it a great little spot to explore and make an afternoon of it.

There may be some parking nearby on High Street, limited to an hour, but there are both long and short stay car parks a short walk away.

Swanage Post Office

Swanage Post Office is centrally located on Institute Road in the town centre.

In addition to the usual post office services and products, Swanage Post Office also has a small gift and stationery shop inside.

You can both withdraw and deposit cash here, and the post office can undertake personal and business banking on behalf of high street banks.

The post office is right by all of Swanage’s key shops and café’s, and just a couple of minutes’ walk to the beach, so you can combine running your errands with a beach stroll or meeting friends for a coffee.

You’ll find Swanage Post Office in the heart of town, just opposite Rainbow’s End and Raspberry Rose shops.

There is some on-street parking nearby on Station Road and High Street, but not directly outside. However, due to the post office’s central location, most of Swanage’s car parks are a short walk away (Broad Road long-stay parking and Co-Op or Mermond Place for short-stay are the closest).

Note that both Station Road and Institute Road are on a one-way system.

It’s also just a five-minute walk from Swanage’s bus station and railway station – simply walk down Station Road, which then becomes Institute Road, and the post office will be on your left, just past Baboo Gelato and Amber Bay.

The Salt Pig Too

Salt Pig Too is a thriving independent café & restaurant, butchery and urban farm shop in the heart of Swanage town centre and just a short stroll from the beach.

The sister business of The Salt Pig in Wareham, which opened its doors in 2010, Swanage’s very own Salt Pig opened its doors in 2018.

Serving seasonally-inspired dishes, Swanage’s Salt Pig restaurant can seat 50 people and all ingredients are locally-sourced where possible.

Chococo

Tucked away down a little Swanage side-street you’ll find award-winning Chococo – a family-run, handmade chocolate company that began life right here in town.

Swanage is the home of Chococo’s first chocolate house, which has now expanded into a shop & café, with further premises in Winchester, Exeter and Horsham.

It’s the perfect place to stop for a hot chocolate and brownie on a chilly afternoon, a refreshing gelato on a summer’s day, or to purchase a special chocolate-themed gift.

There’s seating both downstairs and upstairs in the café next to the adjoining chocolate shop, as well as a small amount of seating in the lane outside. Upstairs you’ll also find a small children’s area with colouring activities.

In addition to Chococo’s signature chocolatey baked goods and specialty drinks, there’s also a range of other items on the menu, including local Dorset tea, scones and toasties.

As well as the Purbeck chocolate company’s firm favourites, such as their beautifully handmade chocolate bars & slabs and delicately decorated boxed chocolates, Chococo also creates seasonal and occasion products. Gifts can also be personalised for the recipient.
