Swanage Medical Centre mission statement
Currently the medical centre is operating an initial telephone triage service in line with Covid-19 recommendations.
Phone the surgery to make an appointment and you’ll receive a telephone consultation with a clinician who will then arrange for a face-to-face appointment if clinically appropriate with a relevant healthcare practitioner.
Same-day appointments can be arranged if you need urgent medical attention.
Online appointment booking will resume when appropriate – the system has been temporarily paused due to the pandemic.
Booking online is an easy way to make an appointment with your registered doctor at a time that’s convenient to you, such as if the centre is closed or the phone lines are busy.
You can also order and view online repeat prescription requests – allow a week for your repeat prescription (so requesting medication in advance, before your current prescription runs out, is advised).
Register for this online service, which also allows you to view your medical records, in person at the surgery by bringing a form of ID with you.
Surgery opening hours for appointments and phone calls are as follows:
Monday to Friday: 8.30am – 1.00pm and 2.00 – 6.30pm (closed between 1pm & 2pm).
(Note that the centre is closed on UK Bank Holidays.)
Special extended hours appointments: If it is difficult for you to attend an appointment during the health centre’s normal opening hours, there may be an option to see a doctor or healthcare professional outside of these hours.
Contact the surgery to ask for either an early morning or evening appointment. It may also be possible to arrange a Saturday morning appointment. Note that, if you have pre-booked one of these appointments, the surgery phone will be switched off and you will need to ring the doorbell to be let in.
