Ulwell Holiday Park

Camp or hire a holiday home and enjoy an on-site swimming pool, playground and bar & restaurant

Bring your tent, campervan or motorhome to the pleasant Ulwell Holiday Park for a fuss-free and fun stay in Swanage within immaculately-maintained grounds and with all the on-site facilities you could need, including a clean shower block, electric hook-ups, shop, swimming pool and even your own pub.

Ulwell is located within a quieter area of Swanage, meaning that you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of being in the countryside, but are within easy access to all the facilities and buzz of the seaside town when you want it.

As well as camping, there is a range of bright, modern static caravans to holiday in, as well as the option to purchase your own for return visits to Swanage.

The Park is proud of its contribution to conservation and supporting local wildlife and enters the David Bellamy Award each year.

Camping

Camping pitches at Ulwell are level and all come with a 10-amp electric hook-up point.

There’s a mixture of grass and all-weather bark chipping pitches.

Touring and motorhome pitches are either grass with electric hook-up, gravel pitches, or fully serviced, hardstanding pitches, with additional water and drainage facilities.

The on-site shop has a good range of camping and caravanning essentials, so if you forget your torch, run out of batteries or need some extra tent pegs, the shop at Ulwell is sure to stock it.

Camping pod

Ulwell’s timber camping pod is nestled in a secluded spot on the site and sleeps up to four people.

The glamping pod has beds, plug sockets, heating and a small veranda with a picnic bench.

The toilet facilities block is a short walk away from the pod.

You’ll need to bring your own bedding.

Holiday homes

Ulwell Holiday Park’s holiday homes provide a comfortable and convenient way of having a self-catering holiday in Swanage.

The Park’s modern static caravans range from ‘bronze’ to ‘prestige’, with some models having a veranda for you to enjoy your breakfast or evening meal on on a warm, summer’s day.

They’re also great for winter breaks as they are double glazed, with central heating and are fully equipped with everything you’d need for a home-from-home experience, including TV and DVD player.

Most caravans have excellent views of either the Purbeck Ridgeway, which rises above you bedding the Park, or down across to Swanage Bay.

Holiday homes at Ulwell can sleep up to either five or seven visitors, depending on model.

Select caravans across the range are dog-friendly, whilst some are pet-free. See below for more information about bringing your dog on holiday to Swanage at Ulwell.

Facilities

The clean, heated and inviting shower block is equipped with free-to-use hair dryers and shaving points. You’ll also find larger family showers, as well as disabled facilities and a baby changing unit.

The on-site laundrette is coin-operated and there are two washing up areas by the loo block. And you won’t have to go far to find fresh drinking water and waste disposal points.

Alongside a welcoming range of food and drinks in Ulwell’s on-site shop, many of which are locally produced here in Dorset, there’s also holiday fun essentials such as buckets & spades, magazines and travel-sized games and toys.

For kids, there’s a great play area and large games field, and of course the indoor, heated swimming pool.

Leaving the car behind for a day’s exploring is also easy at Ulwell Holiday Park as there’s a bus stop right outside the Park, heading into Swanage one way and across to Studland the other – this bus (the Purbeck Breezer no.50) also continues on past Studland over the Sandbanks Ferry and into Bournemouth. There’s also excellent taxi companies in Swanage which can drop you to and from town or to other places further afield.

Swimming pool information

Use of the heated indoor swimming pool at Ulwell is free to all Park guests. In addition to the pool, there’s a toddler pool and small slide – perfect for a rainy day or for a bit of swimming practice before hitting the beach.

The pool has a dedicated lifeguard on duty at all times and is right next door to the pub and restaurant, The Village Inn, so you can have a quick dip and bite to eat before heading out to explore Swanage.

Swimming lessons

Swimming lessons are held here at Ulwell on weekday afternoons

Ulwell Holiday Park’s pool is also open to members of the public and is a favourite for local parents to take their children to for swimming lessons throughout the year.

For mums, dads and carers there’s a viewing area adjacent to the pool with comfy seating where you can watch your children swim whilst enjoying a cup of tea or coffee.

Lessons are typically held during the week in the afternoons (Monday – Thursday), during which time the pool is closed to residents and visitors.

Tariffs

The camping and holiday home season at Ulwell runs from 1 March to the end of the first week in January. As with most sites, tariffs vary seasonally.

Prices range from whether you require a fully-serviced pitch with waste and water drainage and gravel hardstanding, or whether your needs are more basic – there are camping pitches with electric hook-up, as well as simple two-person ‘hike’ pitches.

Awnings are free to add on to your pitch, and admission to the swimming pool is included in the tariff.

There’s a maximum of six people per pitch.

Check out Ulwell’s touring, camping & holiday home tariffs online.

Holiday home prices

Tariffs for static caravans at Ulwell vary depending on whether you require a mid-week, weekend, school holiday or high season stay, and of course the model you’d like to stay in.

The luxurious Prestige models are the most expensive and located in the Park’s best spots with great views, spacious lounge, and full-size bath. You’ll find various options accommodating to most budgets, with the Bronze caravans being the cheapest and more compact, but by no means less comfortable.
