Herston Campsite is on the outskirts of Swanage and offers a range of camping and touring pitches, as well as long-term seasonal pitches.
The campsite boasts great views of the Purbeck Hills and surrounding countryside and it’s an ideal location for a budget-friendly holiday at the seaside.\
Herston also has a small glamping area in the summer, with canvas bell tents that sleep up to four people. These come with beds (you’ll need to bring their own bedding), an electric point, and a fire pit complete with initial kindling and firewood.
Facilities include an on-site bar, shop, children’s play area, launderette and shower block.
It’s a short stroll to Herston Halt, one of the stops on Swanage’s heritage railway line, which will give you a fun and memorable day out at Corfe Castle. And Swanage town, beach and main attractions are all about a 20-minute walk from the campsite. Alternatively, you can take the five-minute drive into town and park at one of the various car parks.
🐾 Herston is a dog-friendly campsite. Dogs stay free of charge and must be kept on a lead.

Camping prices vary according to tent size, as well as seasonally.
Pitch position is allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
Note that there are additional parking charges for boats, jet skis or an extra car, and pitching charges for a gazebo or dog tent.
